Cullin Knutson For
State Representative
HD 86
I am running to bring Texans in District 86 a choice in their future; after 20 plus years of Republican politics, Texans in District 86 deserve a leader who represents everyone equally, and not just the special interests, corporations, and billionaire class. I stand ready to fight for our public education system, expanding Medicare and Medicaid, and advocating for rural communities that are often forgotten by Austin politicians. If you are tired of “politics as usual” I am asking for your vote, and together we can bring representative government BACK to Texans!
about
Cullin
Born and raised in Amarillo, TX, Cullin has been involved with politics since the early age of 16 years old. Graduating from Amarillo High School in 2010, Cullin moved to Austin in 2011 and studied at Texas State University receiving his bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Cum Laude. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Cullin worked multiple jobs including in the Texas House of Representatives as well as a waiting job in a local Asian restaurant. After graduating in 2014, Cullin entered into the landscape of campaigns and elections. Working all over the state for various candidates, Cullin was able to meet and talk to a vast array of people from every walk of life which enhanced his perspective, shaped his world view, and led to a reevaluation of values.
Cullin took some time away from working in politics and entered the private sector working in roadway construction all over Texas for an Arizona-based company, in 2015. From Midland to Galveston, DFW to Laredo, and everywhere in between, Cullin traversed Texas to make a sale. After a surprise shuttering of the company, Cullin went back to what he knew and re-entered political campaigns in 2016. In 2017, Cullin again left campaigns, and began working at his family’s asphalt and paving company based in Amarillo. After a few years, and a move out of the panhandle, Cullin became the General Manager of the family’s Arlington, TX based company for 5 years.
In 2024, Cullin’s family decided to sell their company, and he decided to return to Amarillo and began work at the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission which serves the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. During his short tenure, Cullin helped secure millions of dollars in critically needed Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding for our rural communities. Cullin decided to resign from the PRPC to pursue his run for political office.
Cullin is seeking to be your common-sense voice in the Texas House of Representatives. With both public and private sector experience, Cullin is acutely attuned to solving the issues facing middle-and lower-income- people, removing the bureaucratic red tape that stands in their way , and is dedicated to making fiscally responsible choices to better the lives of all Texans.
Y’all Means ALL
